Sleep apnoea is a disorder where the breathing of the affected person is obstructed for a brief time during sleeping. The airway of the respiratory system is blocked from time to time, waking the patient with a dry throat and choking sensation at night. This appliance helps in keeping the air passage free by keeping the tongue in a suitable position and also opens the jaws for allowing the patient to breathe while sleeping.

  3. Loss in bodyweight: Excessive bodyweight may trigger sleep apnoea in some obese patients and the major sleep apnoea treatment for them is the adoption of fast weight-loss programs. Burning off excess fats from the neck region may help in giving some relief, as the heavy load is likely to obstruct the air passage.
